Street Festival Strokestown 4th & 5th May 2018
Help us celebrate the 20th Festival
As part of Strokestown International Poetry Festival, the streets of Strokestown will play host to poets, musicians, street poems and films – come and join in the fun. The shortlist of the schools poems are up in the Library, and the street poems to celebrate 20 years are already around town.
On Thursday at 4pm, a workshop by James Harpur will be held in The Library. Friday at 12pm Tony Longfella Walsh will give a street oratory at 12pm in Bawn Street. Tony whose family were of Roscommon origin, came to fame after the Ariana Grande concert last year when 22 people were killed. His poem ‘This is the Place’ went viral.
The Hermit Collective will be performing and playing on Saturday, 12 -2 outside the Library. Finbar and Briege will be playing at various venues around town –
