The Gravity Wave is Peter Sirr’s tenth collection of poems with Gallery Press. Other recent titles include Sway (2016), versions of poems from the troubadour tradition; The Rooms(2014), shortlisted for the Irish Times Poetry Now Award and the Pigott Poetry Prize; The Thing Is (2009), awarded the Michael Hartnett Prize. A novel for children, Black Wreath, was published in 2014 and RTE has broadcast several radio plays. A regular critic and essayist, he lives in Dublin with his wife, poet Enda Wyley, and daughter.

The Gravity wave is a Poetry Book Society Recommendation for Autumn 2019. It has also been the shortlist for the 2020 Farmgate Café National Poetry Award, which will be awarded to the best book published in English, in the previous calendar year, by a poet living in Ireland. The winner will be announced on March 24th in Cork .He is a member of Aosdána.
