You can hear poems by this year’s Hennessy award winner, Louise G Cole, at Strokestown International Poetry Festival over May Bank Holiday weekend.

On Friday, May 4th at 7pm in the Percy French Hotel, Louise will be helping to launch the Festival’s annual anthology;

on Saturday, May 5th in Bawn Street, Louise will be joining the Hermit Collective for poems and music between 12 noon and 2pm;

then, also on Saturday May 5th, at 4.30pm in Strokestown Park House, Louise will be launching her poetry collection, ‘Beyond the Green Bridge’, alongside book launches from Majella Cullinane and Erin Fornoff.

Louise, who is a member of the Festival’s organising committee, won the Hennessy Literary Award for Emerging Poetry on Wednesday night – and subsequently had a pub named after her for the weekend!  Watch the story of how it happened here.
