Strokestown enjoyed 9 days of poetry-filled activities from September 10^th to 18^th and we were blessed with beautiful weather which made a difference as some of our activities were outdoors. A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the walks and the workshops. Special thanks to the schools who took part so enthusiastically and to the groups who made it all possible – The Town Team, SCDA, OurVoice FM, Women’s shed, Roscommon Libraries, Roscommon Arts Office, walk leaders, poets and artists and to the businesses who distributed our Poetry Cards.

Thanks also to Siobhan and Joanna our visual artists who made the festival visible in the town and to everyone who helped in any way.  Finally, a massive thank you to Noelle our Poet Laureate who leaves us her Strokestown, My Town poem as a legacy of this event. The poem will appear in print in various places soon and is now available to see on the PoetryTown website.
