A group of poetry enthusiasts gathered recently to mark the 50th anniversary of Patrick Kavanagh’s passing. Organised by Strokestown Poetry Festival, the event included readings of the great poet’s work, anecdotes about his life and times, and one of his most recognisable works, On Raglan Road, sung by Pat Compton.
