TO ENTER THE COMPETITION ONLINE

You can simply send the fee by credit or debit card or a Paypal account, and then email us your details and the poems, along with your payment receipt. Follow the steps below. (Please read the rules and conditions of entry first.)
Please note that the fee for online entry is €6 euros per poem rather than the €5 euro fee for cheques and postal orders. If you decide you would prefer to post your poems and payment click here.

How to pay the entry fee

1. Choose your payment from the drop-down menu on the 'Entry fees per poem' box below. You can pay for up to 10 poems at once. (If you wish to enter more than 10 poems please start a new entry for the extra ones.)

2. Then click the Pay Now button below and you will be directed to the Paypal website.

3. This will invite you to log in to your Paypal account if you have one or to open one if you haven't - but this is not necessary, on the bottom left of the page it offers the option of paying by credit card.

4. When you have completed the payment, Paypal will email you a receipt number. Please include this when you email us with your contact details and poems, so that we can be sure to match the payment to the poems.   How to email the poems:        
                 
  5. Then email the following information to office@strokestownpoetry.org        
                 
      ● Your name and postal address [Please don't put your name on the poems themselves]        
      ● Your telephone numbers, including a mobile phone if possible        
      ● Your email address        
      ● The titles of the poems you have sent, and the category each belongs in.

      ● The total fee you have sent, and the Paypal/credit card receipt number        
      ● Attach the poems to the email        
        N.B. The poems should be attached as a Word document (that is a file with the suffix .doc) or a Rich Text File (with the suffix .rtf) or a pdf file (.pdf) Please don't attach Word files with the .docx suffix, which is the default setting for Windows Vista. Save the poems instead as Word 97-2003 documents - which will give them a .doc suffix - and attach them to the email.        
                 
    N.B. We suggest that poems with unusually complex formatting, such as concrete poetry, should not be entered in this way but should be printed and posted, along with an entry form.        
           
                 
  That's it - easy.
We will email you an acknowledgement of your entry, but at busy times this may take a day or two.
