STROKESTOWN INTERNATIONAL POETRY COMPETITIONS

PRIZES

The Strokestown International Poetry Competition
offers prizes of
€4,000
(approximately £2,500
sterling),
€2000, and €1000
for an unpublished poem in English of up to 70 lines.
In addition
there will be up to seven commended poets who will be invited to read at the festival
for
a reading fee and travelling expenses of €450.

FOR A POEM IN IRISH, SCOTTISH GAELIC OR MANX
€4,000 (£2,500 Sterling)
€2,000 second;
€1,000 third; and €450 (reading fee of €300 and travel
expenses of €150) for three other shortlisted poets.

Backhanders
of
€500, €100, €80
and various other sums will be passed under the table in brown
envelopes,
for light, witty satirical verse on the subject of Irish
politics, or other burning topical and/or social issues of the day.
The entry fee is €5 (or £4
sterling, or $5) per poem.
